You can never have enough electricity when you’re on the road, or out camping and usually that means carrying those little USB battery packs for your phone or plugging in to the car 12v whenever you can. Enter the Jackery 1000 Portable Power Station!
This thing is definitely not as small as a USB battery pack, but it has 1,000,000,000 the power (that might be an exaggeration!). I’ve used this to power my RV fridge, charge my cameras and laptop, blow up an air bed and run a coffee maker in the middle of the desert. The multiple AC outlets, plus 12v car socket and USB (including fast charging) make this thing a no brainer for anybody that needs off grid power…and plenty of it!
Then to make things even better, you can hook up the Jackery SolarSaga 100W folding solar panels and charge it using nothing but the power of the sun!
My real world testing:
Before promoting any product I thoroughly test them to make sure it’s not junk. If they don’t work for me, I’m not going to recommend them to you – period.
I’ve used the Jackery 1000 a few ways to make sure it’s up to scratch. Firstly I slept in the van in Las Vegas when it was 100 degrees at midnight, needless to say I had to have a fan and so I plugged in an industrial box fan to the AC outlet. The fan pulled 85w power and I ran it for 6 hours straight and didn’t even drain half of the Jackery 1000 battery. Then I plugged my 12v fridge in to the 12v car socket to see how long it would run it for. Starting from room temperature (so the compressor was on all the way until it got to the 34F I had set it to), I was able to run the fridge for 36 hours before needing to recharge the Jackery. The best part is that if I had plugged in the solar panels, the fridge would have run indefinitely as they recharge the battery at 90W in direct sun and the fridge only draws 45W – WINNING!
